8.5 Geriatric Use

Fatigue, trouble sleeping and dry mouth have also been reported. The risk of severe low blood pressure and fainting may occur when Addyi is used alone or when combined with alcohol or certain other medicines or herbal supplements. Do not drink alcohol close to the time you take your Addyi dose because this increases your risk of severe low blood pressure and fainting (loss of consciousness). 4.3 Concomitant Guanylate Cyclase (GC) Stimulators

After taking Addyi at bedtime, do not use alcohol until the following day. Do not consume alcohol at least until the morning after taking Addyi at bedtime. One standard alcoholic drink contains 14 grams of pure alcohol and is equivalent to one 12-ounce regular beer, 5-ounces wine, or 1.5 ounces of distilled spirits or shot. Regional issues

Taking these drugs together can increase the blood levels of Addyi in your body and could increase your risk of low blood pressure, sleepiness or fainting (loss of consciousness). Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure if you take drugs known as CYP3A4 inhibitors. Medicines you may need to avoid include certain: Heart, chest pain or high blood pressure medicines Herbal supplements, for example: St. John’s Wort, ginkgo, or resveratrol Over-the-counter (OTC) medicines such as cimetidine (Tagamet HB) Do not drink grapefruit juice if you take Addyi because this may also increase your risk of severe low blood pressure and fainting (loss of consciousness). Tell your healthcare provider about all of the medicines you take, including prescription, over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamin or herbal supplements. Sildenafil is a medicine used to treat erection problems (erectile dysfunction). Sildenafil is also sometimes used to treat pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs). If you have erection problems sildenafil works by temporarily increasing blood flow to your penis when you get sexually excited. In pulmonary hypertension it works by relaxing blood vessels in the chest.

Detection in biological fluids

Do not take or start taking any medicines while taking Addyi until you have talked with your doctor. Dizziness, tiredness, and nausea in about 10% to 11% of patients (vs. 2% to 4% receiving a placebo). Addyi can increase the risk of sleepiness if taken during waking hours.
